Frances Fleming Inspirational Award

Frances Fleming is the inspiration for this award in School District No. 46 (Sunshine Coast).  Frances’ enthusiasm, intelligence and eloquence inspired all of her students, colleagues and community to discover their potentials.


The school district will honour either an individual or a group / organization with an annual award in her honour.

Nominations for the Frances Fleming Award for Inspirational Achievement will be received by the Awards Committee of the Board of Education by February 28th annually.

The recipient for the 2011 award was Debbie Amaral, who was presented with the plaque on June 20th at the Retirement Celebration of School District No. 46 employees.


Candidates must meet some or all of the following guidelines:

• Affiliated with School District No. 46 in the role of employee, parent, student or community member who is supportive of the school district.
• Recognized in the Sunshine Coast community as an individual who inspires others to strive for their best, whatever the barriers may be.
• Has made a significant contribution to the community or to individuals or groups.
• Is a respected leader in the community.
• Is a mentor and friend to many people, young or old.
